Shop Closing

 Today is the day....

The shop was closed for Christmas, but we were hard at work to get things in order.

We have sold the business and today is closing day. When employees come back to work on Jan. 2 2022 they will be told.

This was the hardest thing to keep quiet and not let anyone know.

Family, friends, vendors, customers...anyone. I have such mixed emotions today.

Happy, sad and excited all in one. Nervous about the future and how everyone is going to handle this news. It should be happy but I know people will always judge and somehow make you feel you did the wrong thing.

But, today I choose to be Happy right now at this moment. The following days will be a roller coaster ride I am sure. I am proud at what Bob and I have accomplished personally and business wise in the last 36 years of our marriage and 32 years in business together. The time feels right to move forward on to something new together. We have given Flamingo Signs our all and the time is right.

Shop Ducks?

The front shop door was open before the guys
came in. Momma duck came into the shop,
babies fell behind signs and wood blocks.
After some help moving stuff I was able to
help her to get out of the shop before the guys
pulled the shop trucks out of shop.

Off they go, fyi she only came in with 3 babies.

Full tent with the Bikini Contest in front of our Chalet

Lauren won 2nd Place

Now back to the races...

Great weekend for the races.
The weather was great and we had a blast with
customers, friends and new people we met over the weekend.

Job Survey and Pizza

Bob needed to do a job survey in Downtown Stuart so I went along and
we ended up getting Pizza.

I checked out the water and it is still awful.

No April Fool's Joke

So it was a little before noon when the chaos started.
The area business received phone calls saying to evacuate due
to the fumes from the Biodiesel fuel plant that was on fire.
The power was cut off in the whole area.
So we told everyone to go to lunch and come back by 2.

Well as soon as we got the message it was under control
and drove back to the shop this is what it looked like.
By the time we got in the driveway we heard another explosion.
That was it now it was a major evacuation and the area
size increased and no one could come back in the area.
The police were going door to door and telling everyone to leave.
So much for getting any work done.

So I went home.

You could still see the smoke from the house.

This is what was on fire.

Note the sign we made.

Looks like its starting to melt.

So much for the sign faces.

I hope for a calm day tomorrow.
