Shop Closing

 Today is the day....

The shop was closed for Christmas, but we were hard at work to get things in order.

We have sold the business and today is closing day. When employees come back to work on Jan. 2 2022 they will be told. 

This was the hardest thing to keep quiet and not let anyone know.

Family, friends, vendors, customers...anyone. I have such mixed emotions today.

Happy, sad and excited all in one. Nervous about the future and how everyone is going to handle this news. It should be happy but I know people will always judge and somehow make you feel you did the wrong thing.

But, today I choose to be Happy right now at this moment. The following days will be a roller coaster ride I am sure. I am proud at what Bob and I have accomplished personally and business wise in the last 36 years of our marriage and 32 years in business together. The time feels right to move forward on to something new together. We have given Flamingo Signs our all and the time is right.

Johnathan has grown up in the shop from being in the office 

as a baby to a young man working on the install truck.

Sad Pool

 

Pool is in sad shape

Even with a call to local pool co. to

do emergency clean and shock.

Thanks to my new neighbors that sent me a txt

saying " Hey your pool looks green "  Oct.1

Turns out they had some storms come through

and for whatever reason the salt chlorinator turned off 

and never re-started for a week or so. Not a normal thing and I hope

it never happens again.

Holiday and Birthday Weekend

 We drove down on Friday morning and the view was amazing as the water was flat.

Stopped and ate lunch which was a nice change from driving at night.

Lionfish, avocado and asparagus inside, with masago, chopped escolar, wakame, sesame seeds on top 

AND

ISLAND ROLL 

Coconut shrimp, mango, avocado, seared tuna on top, scallions, honey sriracha 

Both were very good and I can't wait to go back.

Fun day on the water. Met up with friends who gave me a birthday lobster.

Just enjoyed the beautiful water today.

My birthday gift... I am chillin in the pool and Bobby washed the boat for me.

It's cake time

Out to the deep blue water today. Looking for Mahi...

But no luck other than a barracuda. Flat water, hot and structure to fish = :(

Look close and you can see the baby iguana in the lime tree.

I picked 20 some limes today.

What a great long weekend.

Can't wait to come back.

RIP Chip Travers

Your life was filled with family, friends, love and a lots of fun.

Got A Lift

 

Today we got power connected and lifted the

boat for the first time.

Thank You Hurricane Boat Lift 

They did a great job.

This is before power

It will be so nice to have the lift not worry

about calling ahead to have the boat put in.

The marina is closed on the weekend and it is 

so difficult to know for sure if we can make down

or if the weather will be good. Seems like when

the weather was nice we did not have the boat.

I also put the umbrella together.
