Three adult male manatees were released in Key Colony Beach.
They were rehabilitated at SeaWorld Orlando.
FWC, Dolphin Reseach Center and Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters also helped
SeaWorld to move them from the trucks into the water.
Not a easy process as the average manatee weighs 100 pounds per feet.
All 3 of these boys were over 1,000 pounds.
Above is the 1st and 2nd the 3rd I did not get a photo.
1 -One had a skull fracture from a boat strike.
He was rescued April 19th from shallow flats off of 63rd Street Ocean, Marathon.
2- Named "Manakey," he was emaciated and weighed 460 pounds when rescued
on June 10 from a canal in Duck Key.
This was the photo of him when found from Keys Weekly.
At release he weighed 1,005 pounds. They measure
and mark any wounds plus they have a micro chip to identify
them so if found in trouble again they will know its history.

3 - Named “Duval,” was rescued from a residential canal in Marathon on July 6. He was underweight and found to have Gastric issues and dehydration.
