Mahi's vacation starts now, as
his Daddy (John) is heading south to
enjoy a week in the Florida Keys.

Mahi is stuck with me, but he likes his new football.

Quiet Weekend

This is the weekend before the Keys gets crazy. We thought we would be able
to fish but the weather is not co operating, think Hurricane Hanna is pulling up the
wind and rain. So the first thing was to empty the extra 6 inch of water from the pool.
We had a final AC check and then the inspection from the City.
Great to get another thing checked off the list.

Morning rainbow walk

Afternoon sun shower

Saturday drive and lunch at Boondocks

Stopped at nursery for a few new plants

A keylime tree and Ice cream banana tree

It's so nice to be able to cool off after yard work.

Beautiful evening

We are leaving before the craziness of Mini Season starts.
As the county has decided to make it more difficult for the vacationers
by closing the boat ramps. So with them closing tonight the rush
is on at the boat ramp today.

Alligator Reef Light

Alligator Reef Light
is 4 nautical miles east of Indian Key,
north of Alligator Reef itself.
Was established in 1873 and last operational in July 2014.
Light is 136 feet above the water, white with black lantern.
Name honors the US Navy schooner Alligator which
went aground at this location in 1822.
The Alligator was blown up after removing as much
as possible to prevent it from being used by pirates.
Feb. 2019 it was announced it would be given away freely
to any government or educational agencies.
